Try Krita, Inkscape, or Autodesk Sketchbook, any of them are pretty good. I should point out Inkspace is more dedicated for Vectors. Krita is pretty much a free equivalent of your typical illustration software. Autodesk is pretty nice as well. Any of them should be compatible.
