If it is as you describe it then i would of course take the 200, especially if small lies (like for a present) also count. But what if you only got the 200 if you noticed you were beeing lied to? You don't have to point it out, just notice it.

I'm torn on this. I can't stand people that lie to me, but that million would turn into about $400k after taxes, and I could use that cash right now. But the amount of people that lie to me is farily large, and that $200 is legally untaxable, unless a person lies to me at least five times. I guess I'd take the $200. I could probably make rent by being outside for a few hours.

I don't think it's as clear as people are making it out to be. You'd need to be lied to 5000 times to make $1M and I imagine that would take a very long time. Unless you just get your friend to purposefully lie to you and you can just make bank that way lol

Lie detector seems tempting, but the 1m is instant and can be invested asap. I can only see the lie detector as an increase in QOL.

Good question and tough choice! I would probably go for...... the $200 and lie detector. A lie is a lie yeah? So in day-to-day interactions with shop owners and whatnot, even a small lie would give me $200 and I can tell if they're just bullshitting their way through my questions.
