I like horrors that aren't jump scares and cliche scare tactics. Most horrors nowadays deploy boring surface scares.

My personal favorites are
- The Babadook
- A Quiet Place
- Insidious
- Sinister (like the premise, not the scare)
- The Wailing (a Korean film. Amazing story telling)

I do like scenes in the conjuring but it's not particularly that great. Love the universe. The scares are dull.
