It's a bit of an oldie, but Skyrim is a great SP title that I'd recommend!

If you like hack and slashes go for devil may cry 4-5, bayonetta 1-2 and metal gear rising revengance.
If you like stealth games go for dishonered 2, metal gear solid 5 phantom pain and hitman 2.
If you like shooter games go for Doom (2016) and Vanquish.
All of these games are short and have fun and engaging gameplay.

Its not 40 hours or anything close but SOMA is great for a day or two (5ish hours). Its a "horror/thriller". Frictional is always great but Machine for Pigs doesn't count.

Definitely second all of these games, good to have a few different genres stored in the back catalogue for sure. Jedi Knight games are a classic.
