Hey guys, first post here, hope I'm not offside on any rules. I know Ruben sets aren't allowed to be posted, but hope this discussion about him is ok. 

To start, I'm wondering if it's common knowledge that Ruben was arrested late last year? Seems like the US wanted him pretty bad as they effectively did a prisoner swap with Mexico. Mexican police arrested Ruben in Monterrey and then transferred him to US custody. In exchange, US officials arrested a Mexican fugitive living in the US and handed him over to Mexican authorities. 

I've searched online a fair bit and can't find anything about this on forums, news sites, other than 1 article briefly mentioning him. I'm out of my element on this next question, but is this something that this site would want to make known more widely? Happy to share sources and legal docs I got from PACER with a mod or whoever if so. Some of the docs on PACER are sealed so really only have indictments and approvals for warrants, etc, plus confirmation of the jail where he's being held. 

I've always wondered if this guy was ever going to be caught so this shit is interesting to me. Somehow got into this rabbit hole last weekend as the quarantine started ramping up and no one could leave their house (drugs..). If no one else gives a shit about this... welp, see ya later! That's mad. Do we know how long he's getting? Surely it's a few lifetimes, especially because of where it is he committed the crimes. I'm sure after the first few times he knew this was eventually going to happen so he just continued to do what he was doing, guys a pure monster. I think maybe he really just wanted more and more picture/videos from them and used blackmail to get it. He threatened to send everything to friends/family if they didn't do what he asked.

The indictment I saw (and subsequent arrest warrant) listed 12 counts, the 5th of which was Title 18, United States Code, Section 2422(b) - Coercion and Enticement. This alone carries a sentence of "not less than 10 years or for life."

With the caveat that I have not watched these videos myself, nor do I have even the slightest desire to do so, my understanding of them as they have been described to me is as follows:

His basic M.O. was to catfish/trick a girl into sending him nudes of herself (pretty typical/mild content at first); topless pics, maybe a full nude), but once he had a few of them he would start blackmailing them. He would threaten to send them friends and acquaintances he had looked up on her social media profiles, or even her family/parents.

These girls tended to be very young (thus why they are banned on this board; for good reason), and his made them incredibly susceptible to this sort of blackmail/manipulation. Instead of going to people who may have helped them, like the police, they were convinced that the sending of those pictures would "ruin their lives". He would also prove his seriousness by sending the pictures to a few of their friends right away (or at the first sign of non-compliance or hesitation).

After the blackmailing started, his demands would get more and more rough. Instead of just pictures, he would demand videos and then eventually Skype Chats. And the Skype chats were insanely predatory, often requiring penetration with objects, and often while the girls were crying and saying no. The scariest part is I have heard some of the girls formed a sort of Stockholm Syndrome attachment to him over time.

It really is vile what he did. I know most of the time on forums like these we walk in a grey area, but really there are just some lines that as human beings we should reject out of hand. The person who described it to me called it "basically rape", but really, depending on what state the girls lived in and thus what jurisdiction it is tried under (not to mention under federal law which he could also be tried under without double jeopardy applying due to the dual sovereignty doctrine) there is no "basically". Using blackmail to force someone to penetrate themselves is, in most jurisdictions, considered rape. And because of the girls' ages, which are aggravating factors under the law, he is never going to see the outside of a jail cell again.

I, personally, would love to follow along with this asshole's trial and see what he eventually gets hit with since the media isn't really covering it. So anything you got that doesn't violate Forum rules, I'd thank you for!

Sorry for the long delay in replying. Turns out the initial article I read about his arrest was a bit off. The US went through Interpol to get him arrested, which he ultimately was by an elite force in Mexico. These articles have more details as well as photos and videos (Chrome can translate the articles into English).

Latest update on PACER is that he was denied bail on May 29 (danger to community and flight risk) and is being held in Arizona. He has a jury trial scheduled to start July 7. Will be interesting if any US media covers the trial as it doesn't seem like they've been interested up to this point.
