All legalizing drugs will do is allow the pharmaceutical companies to sell it directly, and bankrupt the cartels. Personally, legalize all of it, and get rid of the social programs to get off drugs. Have fun, but it's your own damn fault if you crash and burn.
After doing a research paper on this topic in undergrad, I am now fully convinced that all drugs should be legalized, which was honestly not my opinion before researching it. If you guys are actually interested in this topic, there is a really famous paper in the economics community about this called The Economic Case against Drug Prohibition by Jeffrey A. Miron and Jeffrey Zwiebel. I referenced this paper a lot in my research, as do most economists who write on this topic.
